Reception area
Presently, the entry way flows into the living room which poses a security and safety risk for staff and children alike. The estimated cost of this project is $38,000.00.
Electrical repairs
Light fixtures are rusted and lights flicker when certain equipment is used. We must make these critical repairs. Materials cost an estimated seven thousand dollars ($7,000.00)
Bedroom
There is a need for linen and clothes storage in the girls’ and boys’ units. In addition, we are in need of four single beds: two for our smallest boys, one for our sick bay/quarantine room and one for our staff room.
Staff Room
Our staff is hardworking and need space where we can clear our minds, store personal belongings and regroup. As such, the staff room is in need not only of a single bed, but lockers for twelve, a fan and a door.
Sick/Isolation Bay
We are seeking to have a designated sick-bay. A single metal bed is preferred here for easier sanitizing frequently. Also needed is a proper door and a locker/small dresser.
Get involved
As the country navigates daily through the current pandemic, it is now a required protocol that all children’s residences have a sick bay or isolation room. The room so designated needs a window as proper ventilation and fresh air are an important part of improving one’s health.
